Skill Sets

Symphony Math focuses on Year 1 to 6 Number skills - which are the foundation for success in mathematics.

'Number' should be the focus for 60-80% of the math teaching time in years 1 to 4, 50-70% in years 5 to 6,  and 40-60% in years 7 to 8.

Symphony Math Skill Sets
Overviews of the main concepts that are addressed in each Symphony Math Stages can be found below.

Mastery Round Levels (MR) provide timed math fact practice and are activated when students master particular Stages.  Students work on the Mastery Rounds separately from their work in the conceptual Stages.  Time limits can be adjusted or Mastery turned off for any students who would not benefit from timed fluency practice.
