LASS Junior
A unique computerised, multifunctional assessment
system designed for pupils aged 8 to 11 years. It can be
used for on-entry screening and the assessment of special
needs in literacy. It can also be used to monitor progress.
|
LASS Junior is self-administered by students in the form of challenging
and entertaining games, which assess both cognitive skills and
attainment in literacy. Interpretation of LASS Junior is relatively
simple; use of a standardised graphical profile makes it easy
to spot students who are under-performing generally or in relation
to their intellectual potential. LASS Junior can also be used
on a regular basis (e.g. every term) to monitor progress in reading
and spelling, or to check development in phonic skills. All this
information can be used in formulating Individual Education Plans
(IEPs) and is valuable when deliberating whether or not to request
a formal assessment by an educational psychologist. Results are
provided in standard score form, centiles, standard deviation
units and age-equivalents, calibrated against standardised norms
in 1 year age bands.
Detailed printouts including Lucid's unique Graphical Profile
can be displayed and printed at the click of the mouse. Teachers
can add their own comments and the reports can be imported into
word processors or spreadsheets if necessary.
